The Living City is a digital library initiative intended to capture the experience of life, health, and urban transformation during the decades between the end of the Civil War and the end of World War I using key sanitary data and public health reports, planners' maps, photographs, and archival documents. As both a robust digital library collection and a dynamic, interactive multimedia resource, The Living City will allow students, public health professionals, urban planners, engineers, and historians to engage anew with primary sources and explore the working of historical selection, inference, and synthesis. For more information on the project, please visit our about page. This project was generously supported by the National Science Foundation
